Humanoid Stars Awards: Those Harmless and Baffling Behaviors
If the “Cthulhu Investigation” is a warning archive, then “Humanoid Stars” is pure joy.
Inclusion Criteria
This category only includes those that:
- Are baffling, but harm no one;
- Ideally, make you laugh out loud;
- Leave you thinking “human diversity” rather than “humanity is doomed.”
Classic Types
Type One: Wrestling with Inanimate Objects For example, arguing with a vending machine, reasoning with a robot vacuum, or writing a long complaint essay to an AI customer service bot.
Type Two: Over-the-Top Seriousness in Absurdity Like spending three hours researching how to boil an egg in a microwave (and succeeding), or building a weighted scoring model to decide what to eat for lunch.
Type Three: Pure Mental Leaps For instance, someone genuinely asks “How do astronauts wring out a towel in space?” and the top-voted reply is “They don’t, because there’s no tax bureau in space.”
Why This Category Exists
Life is already tough enough. Recording these is a reminder to myself:
Most “fake human” behaviors are actually harmless—just quirky thought processes. Truly dangerous Cthulhu-level incidents are rare.
Keeping a sense of humor is the best armor against the erosion of the Void.
— This category is always accepting submissions, as long as you’re sure no one got hurt and no one else was harmed.
